The Nancy and David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center is a ground-breaking institution in the world of Holocaust museums. It has succeeded in articulating a unique holocaust narrative based on the stories of local survivors and then expanding that narrative outward to fully embrace universal elements contained in that key word “Humanity”. In order for the Holocaust to remain relevant to new generations of students and visitors, the classic narrative of historical events must bring audiences to a place of current relevance. At HHC a powerful and seamless narrative has been developed to do just that.
The narrative begins with the Holocaust and traverses into a humanity based forward thinking conclusion. Yes the Holocaust is a seminal event that everyone should be aware of, but how and why should greater knowledge of this event shape my behavior and attitudes as a responsible citizen? These are questions that are answered within this exhibition.
